Quality assurance

We harvest our fish at one or more of the group’s marine sites. The harvested fish are then transferred to the packing plant. Here the fish are cleaned, gutted, sorted according to their size and quality and packed on ice in 20 kg boxes under approved HACCP procedures.

Atlantic Fare is dedicated to delivering the finest quality Irish salmon to our customers, satisfying the criteria of their specifications and highest industry standards.

Traceability

Each shipment of fish shipped from our packing plant is accompanied by a comprehensive product traceability sheet which details the life history of that batch of fish.

These details are contained in Atlantic Fare�s on line sales system, which at any stage can provide information on any particular batch of fish shipped from any of our packing plants. Each individual box of fish is accompanied by a special code which links directly back to the traceability sheet, allowing our customers to have

complete information on all fish they receive.

Quality Programmes

In addition to being ISO 9001-2008 certified, Atlantic Fare, its packing plants and farms are members of the Irish Sea Fisheries Board (BIM) Quality Seafood Programme. This is an independently audited EN45011 accredited assurance quality standard. This has been designed to assure the highest standards of quality and food safety throughout the production chain, from salmon egg to
finished product.

Organic Programmes

Our organic salmon are certified by:

	Naturland, the German organic standards agency. www.naturland.de
	IOFGA, The Irish Organic Farmers And Growers Association who certify to Irish organic standards. www.irishorganic.ie
	Bio Suisse the organic standards agency in Switzerland. www.bio-suisse.ch
	European Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 (EC) No 889/2008 Certified by IMO. This European certification also gives our producers permission of usage of the French AB logo www.ec.europa.eu/agriculture/organic/

Each organic agency carries out at least an annual audit, which guarantees our organic fish are reared to the strict organic standards.
